On April 7, Portage Public Schools welcomed families, staff, and community members to a Gallery Walk for a first look at the new Amberly Elementary School.

The event gave attendees an opportunity to explore renderings, site plans, and design concepts for the new Amberly Elementary while connecting with Principal Dr. Andy Fuehr and the design team to learn more about the vision for the future home of the Amberly Tigers. The evening emphasized both pride in the school’s history and excitement for what lies ahead.

Part of the district’s bond program, the new facility is designed to provide modern, innovative learning spaces that will serve students and staff for generations to come.

The next milestone is already approaching, with groundbreaking scheduled for June 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Construction will begin later this year, with the new school expected to open in fall 2028.
